Dr. Slam was recently appointed as the Cancer Liaison Physician (CLP) for the Mount Carmel Health System. The CLP is a leadership physician role in charge of evaluating, interpreting, and reporting cancer outcomes for the hospital system. This is critical for ongoing system accreditation for the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer (ACS CoC). She humbly accepted this role after the untimely passing of Phillip Price, MD, FACS, who previously served as CLP from 2011 until 2014. Dr. Slam learned a great deal from Dr. Price during her work with him over the past 3 years on the Network Cancer Committee, and promises to continue upholding the strong standards of accreditation for the more than 2,000 patients diagnosed with cancer each year in the Mount Carmel Health System.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
