The American Cancer Society recommends all women over the age of forty undergo a yearly clinical breast exam (CBE) by a physician, nurse practitioner, or physician assistant. Clinical breast examinations complement mammogram screening for the earliest detection of breast cancer. Some women feel more comfortable having a breast specialist perform these exams, and some primary care practitioners also prefer having a specialist evaluate their patients. Yearly breast clinical exams also include a review of your mammogram imaging obtained by the imaging facility of your choice. Please remember to bring a CD of your films for the physician to review.
