Dr. Slam performs over 500 surgeries annually, and her expertise shows! For patients undergoing breast cancer surgery, she focuses not only on oncologic cure, but also on the patient’s final cosmetic appearance. Dr. Slam is fully trained in all areas of breast surgery including:

- Lumpectomy/partial mastectomy
- Sentinel lymph node biopsy
- Mastectomy
- Skin-sparing mastectomy
- Nipple-sparing mastectomy
- Oncoplastic lumpectomy
- Intraoperative ultrasound for localization
- Port placement for chemotherapy
Surgical literature clearly shows that patient outcomes are improved in the hands of a surgical expert. Dr. Slam also strongly believes that the non-physician team is as important as she is. She proudly operates only at hospital facilities that are accredited through the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC), which helps to ensure quality surgical care for her patients. Dr. Slam commits to care for her patients under NCCN and other established surgical guidelines for breast care and breast cancer, and maintains Surgery Board Certification. Dr. Slam is also in the forefront of advancing patient outcomes from a quality standpoint, serving as the Quality Director of the Mount Carmel Breast Program and Surgery Department Chairman at Mount Carmel East.
